What is a wildlife fence?
A wildlife fence (also known as a wildlife net, wildlife protection net or wolf fence) is an electric fence to ward off wild animals such as foxes, martens, wild boars, wolves and other wild animals. Your animals are protected from these attackers by a wildlife fence. These nets are 50 m long as standard and can easily be linked together in larger pastures.
3 questions to the right wildlife fence
Step 1: Which wild animals do you want to keep out?
Depending on whether you want to keep out foxes, martens or larger animals such as wild boars and wolves, you need the right fence.
Step 2: What surface is the wildlife fence attached to?
If the ground is sandy or earthy, we recommend a double stake at the end of the fence posts for a more stable hold. If the ground is stony, a single post provides more stability for your wildlife fence.
Step 3: Do you need a complete set or do you already have certain components?
If you already have an electric fence, you probably only need a suitable net for your wildlife fence. We also offer complete packages for game fences and wolf fences. These complete packages contain all the accessories (wildlife protection net, pasture fence, posts, etc.) that you need to operate your wildlife protection fence.
Prevent game damage with game defense
Wildlife damage is not only unpleasant, but also costly. Here we show you how you can effectively prevent damage caused by game.
How game damage occurs
Wild boar are the main cause of damage. Wild boars are herd animals and therefore normally move in large groups. When wild boars encounter agricultural land, the result is serious damage to pasture and trampling. The reasons for this are almost exclusively a lack of food or water in the original area. In coniferous forest areas there is generally a greater shortage of food than in deciduous or mixed forest areas. Wild boars not only need plant food, but also animal protein. This fact is often unknown. In addition to eating forest fruits, wild boar also feed on insects, beetles and even mice. Due to the ever decreasing occurrence of forest fruits and the eradication of the cockchafer, for example, the wild boar lacks sufficient food in its natural form. When they search for food, they come across agricultural land, which is readily available.
How to prevent damage caused by wild boar
Wild boar damage can be prevented either by distraction or by protective measures. You can distract the wild boars by creating focal points or targeted game fields. If this is not possible, protection measures are unavoidable at certain times on particularly vulnerable farmland. All visual, acoustic or chemical defense measures can help in the short term. However, it has been shown that the wild boars get used to them sooner or later. In the long term, only electric fencing has proven effective in repelling wild bo ar.
How a wild boar defense system works
A) An energizer generates regular current pulses
B) Several wires carry the current. These do not have to return to the start of the fence.
C) Insulators or plastic posts isolate the current from the ground
D) Mobile or permanent stakes can be used.
E) The earthing of the energizer should be placed as deep as possible in moist soil.
When the boar touches the wire, the circuit is closed. The electric current flows through
