Perfectly Suited for Double Bridles: The Waldhausen Bradoon Bit, double jointed

The Waldhausen Bradoon Bit, double jointed is the ideal partner for riding with a double bridle. Since this setup involves two bits in the horse's mouth at the same time, the dimensions of this model are perfectly adapted to the limited space. With a bit thickness of 14 mm and smaller rings with a diameter of 5.5 cm, this bradoon bit fits harmoniously without overloading the horse's mouth. The double jointed mouthpiece ensures a particularly mouth-friendly effect, as it adapts flexibly to the anatomy of the tongue and distributes rein pressure evenly without putting pressure on the palate.

Made from proven, high-quality stainless steel, this bit proves to be extremely durable, easy to care for, and completely rust-proof in daily use. For horses that prefer neutral equipment in their mouth, stainless steel is the perfect choice: the smooth surface has no inherent taste and only minimally affects the horse's natural saliva production. This bradoon bit offers demanding riders a solid and precise basis for fine communication when using a double bridle.

Questions & Answers:

What is the difference between a bradoon and a normal snaffle bit?
A bradoon bit is specifically intended for use in combination with a curb bit. To ensure both bits have enough space in the mouth, bradoons are designed to be thinner and have significantly smaller rings than standard snaffle bits, preventing the rings of the two bits from interfering with each other.

Why is the double jointed design an advantage here?
Since space in the horse's mouth is quite limited when riding with two bits, the double jointed mouthpiece ensures that the bit lies flexibly over the tongue. It prevents the so-called "nutcracker effect" and ensures that the bit does not press against the sensitive palate when the reins are taken up.
