Electric Net Fence: Mobile Netting for Livestock and Pets

Electric nets for herding and protection. Find the right electric net fence for sheep, poultry, dogs, or to deter wild animals.

Electric Net Fence – Flexible Fencing for Agriculture and Garden

If you need a fence that can be set up and moved quickly, an electric net fence (or netting) is the easiest solution. The net consists of a sturdy plastic mesh with interwoven conductive wires. The posts are already permanently integrated into the net. You just have to unroll it, step the posts into the ground, and connect an energizer.

Electric net fences are suitable for rotational grazing in agriculture, but also for the garden, to keep dogs on the property or to protect vegetable beds from wild animals.

The most important features of an electric net fence:

  • Mobility: Since the posts are integrated, the fence can be set up, taken down, and set up again in another location very quickly.
  • Adapted meshes: The nets have different mesh sizes depending on the animal species. The meshes are usually tighter at the bottom so that small animals cannot slip through.
  • Herding effect: The physical barrier of the net is reinforced by the electric shock. This keeps your own animals in and wild animals out.

Single Prong or Double Prong?

With the posts, you usually have the choice between a single prong and a double prong. A double prong has a small step. This makes it easier to step straight into normal ground with your foot. It also provides a little more stability. However, if your ground is very hard and stony, a single prong is often easier to push into the ground between the stones.

FAQs about Electric Net Fences

Do I always need power on the net?
Yes, an electric net fence should always be connected to an energizer. Without power, the animals do not respect the fence. They can try to push the net down or get tangled in the meshes, which can be dangerous.

How do I connect several nets together?
There are usually metal clips at the ends of the electric net fences. If you want to connect two nets, you simply click these clips together. This closes the fence and the current flows seamlessly into the next net.

Which net do I need for my poultry?
Poultry netting is often a bit taller (usually 112 cm) so that the birds don't flutter over it. In addition, the meshes at the bottom must be very tight so that the chickens cannot slip through or get their heads stuck.
