These rubber reins for horses combine soft leather with a rubber coating on one side. The rubber side faces your hand and gives you something to hold on to in the rain, while the leather side stays smooth against the horse's neck and slides freely when you let the reins out.

They come without stops, so the rein surface runs clean from buckle to hook and your hand can sit exactly where you want it. There is no martingale stopper fitted either, which keeps them tidy for flatwork and hacking. Stainless steel fittings stand up to sweat and washing, and the reins buckle onto the bit in the usual way.

Why choose reins without stops?
A smooth rein lets you shorten and lengthen without your hand catching on a raised bar. Riders who like to adjust their contact often prefer it.

Can I use them with a running martingale?
These reins have no martingale stoppers, so we do not recommend them with a running martingale unless you fit stoppers yourself.

Do the stainless steel fittings rust?
Stainless steel copes well with sweat, rain and regular washing, which is why it is used on tack that lives outdoors.
