Backpacks & Gun Cases: Comfortable to carry, safely stowed
On the way onto your ground you carry quite a lot: rifle, optics, knife, food and a warm layer for the sit. To get everything there safely, you need a comfortable hunting backpack and a well-padded gun slip. Here you will find backpacks from Eurohunt and gun cases from Eurohunt, Bearproof and Black Fire, for one or two long guns and in different lengths.
Gun slips for every long gun
The gun slip protects your firearm from scratches, moisture and knocks, both in the car and on foot to the high seat. For rifles with a scope, 135 cm models such as the Black Fire case or the padded Bearproof Opti Drag Bag offer plenty of room. A double gun case lets you take two long guns, and the Eurohunt 2 in 1 model can even be split in two. Classic 125 cm slips suit many shotguns and rifles without long optics.
Backpacks for the high seat and stalking
A good backpack sits steadily on your back and opens without loud rustling. The Eurohunt hunting and hiking backpacks have room for binoculars, food, rain gear and recovery kit, and are pleasant companions away from hunting too. Pack heavy items close to your back, so you carry more comfortably and keep your hands free for a stick or your rifle. Muted colours hardly stand out in the woods.
Frequently asked questions
What length of gun slip do I need for my rifle?
Measure your rifle with the scope fitted, from the butt plate to the muzzle, and add about 5 to 10 cm. With long barrels or a moderator fitted, you are better off with a 135 cm slip.
Can I store my rifle in the slip for long periods?
Better not, because moisture can collect in a closed slip and cause rust. Take the rifle out after your outing, let it dry and store it cleaned and oiled in your gun cabinet.
How many litres should a hunting backpack hold?
For sitting out and short stalks, 20 to 30 litres is usually enough. If you are out for longer or on hill ground, 35 litres or more is pleasant, so there is room for recovery kit and a change of clothes.
Gun slips and hunting backpacks
A good gun slip is more than a cover, because it protects the barrel, stock and scope on every trip to your ground. For long guns with large optics, the 135 cm models from Black Fire and Bearproof are a good fit, and their padding absorbs knocks well. If you head out with both rifle and shotgun, a double case is practical, at Eurohunt even as a split 2 in 1 version. For guns without long optics there are classic 125 cm slips. In the hunting backpack you stow binoculars, knife, food and a warm layer for the sit. The Eurohunt backpacks are light, tough and comfortable on hikes as well. That way you arrive at your high seat well organised with everything you need to hand. Always take the rifle out of the slip after each outing so it can dry out properly.
