A greater quantity of mucus in the mouth and nose area can cause substantial problems when the calf begins to breathe and can even lead to death by suffocation. The removal of mucus by hand is totally insufficient in this case. The HK respirator pump is the solution. Press the opening on the rubber sleeve onto the mouth or nose with slight pressure and suction any mucus that is present by pulling the star grip. Then remove the HK respirator pump and place it to the side. Pressure on the star grip pushes the piston inside the HK respiratory pump down again and the suctioned mucus flows out.
