Wall Hay Racks for Horses: Cleanliness and Space-Saving in the Stable

Feeding roughage is the most important pillar of equine nutrition. However, if the hay is simply laid loose on the floor of the box, it is often quickly scattered in the bedding, trampled, and soiled with manure. A large part of the valuable ration must then be disposed of unused. A massive wall hay rack solves this problem immediately. Firmly mounted on the box wall, it takes up no valuable floor space, prevents expensive feed loss, and keeps the hay clean and appetizing at all times. This ensures that your horse can consume its hay ration hygienically and the box stays clean longer.

Long Occupation Thanks to Metal Bars

Horses naturally spend a very long time eating. If they gorge large amounts of hay too quickly, there is a risk of boredom and digestive problems. Wall hay racks with an integrated feed grid force the horse to pluck the hay out in small portions through the bars. This slows down feed intake enormously, ensures better salivation, and protects the sensitive equine stomach.

Safety Through Hot-Dip Galvanized Metal

Accessories in the horse box must be extremely robust. Our wall hay racks are made of solid, hot-dip galvanized steel. They are absolutely bite-resistant, do not rust, and have no sharp edges. The bars are welded so strongly that they will not bend or break, even with impatient horses.

Frequently Asked Questions

At what height should a wall hay rack be mounted?
The rack should hang as low as possible, but as high as necessary. The horse should be able to eat in a natural, slight forward-downward posture, similar to grazing. If the rack hangs too high, hay dust falls into the horse's eyes and nostrils. If it hangs too low, there is a risk that the horse will step into it.

How much hay fits in a wall hay rack?
The capacity depends on the respective model. A standard wall hay rack usually holds enough loose hay for a generous night ration (approx. 8 to 12 kg). There are also extra-large models for horses with a very high roughage requirement.

How large should the grid spacing be?
The distance between the bars is usually around 5 to 8 centimeters. This distance is ideal so that the horse can pluck out the hay easily but cannot get its entire head or a hoof caught in the grid.

Galvanized Hay Racks for Secure Wall Mounting

Loose hay fed on the stable floor is often associated with enormous feed losses due to trampling and soiling. With a wall hay rack, you protect your wallet and at the same time offer your horse a permanently clean feeding place. Since the rack is firmly screwed to the wall, the entire floor area of the box is retained as a lying area.

Choose from our range of high-quality, hot-dip galvanized wall hay racks. The narrow bars healthily extend the eating time and thus prevent boredom. Equipped with rounded edges and massive welds, our racks offer maximum safety and extreme durability for everyday stable life.
