What is a dog net?

A dog net is a fence for herding small and large dogs. In a dog fence your dog can not escape or if the fence is used as a demarcation in the garden, so your darling can not make mischief in certain areas (eg flower or vegetable beds).

A dog net is much more herd-proof than a conventional garden fence, because your dog can't squeeze through the tight meshes. In addition, the net closes flush with the ground and slipping through is effectively prevented.

When is an electric dog fence useful?

A dog net without electricity is suitable if you want to prevent your dog from escaping from the garden.

However, if you want to keep wild animals such as foxes, martens or rabbits away from your property, then an electric dog fence will offer you better protection. The electric version is also more suitable for dogs that like to jump or animals that like to climb or dig.

3 Steps to the right dog fence:

Step 1: Make sure the dog fence is the right height and length

Dog nets are available in 15, 25 or 50 meter lengths and in heights of 65 cm, 77 cm, 106 cm and 112 cm.

For small dog breeds (up to 39 cm shoulder height) or dogs that do not jump, a low dog fence is absolutely sufficient.

If, on the other hand, you have a larger dog or a dog that likes to jump or climb, then it is better to go for a higher model, because a high dog fence is not so easy for even these animals to overcome.

Important: If you need a longer dog fence, you can easily connect our dog nets with the integrated metal clips and thus extend them. We also offer electrified dog fence complete sets incl. electric fence device and all accessories for a fence length up to 500 m.

Step 2: Determine the appropriate pile tips for your substrate

Dog fence posts are differentiated between double spikes and single spikes.

If your ground is earthy or sandy, a double tip is recommended for more stability. If the terrain is rocky, a single tip is easier to insert into the ground.

Step 3: Decide on an electric dog fence or non-electric dog fence

If you want to keep wild animals like foxes, rabbits or martens away from your dog and garden, an electric dog fence with live conductors is the best choice for you. However, if the main purpose is to prevent your dog from escaping, the non-electric model will probably suffice.

Important: If you choose a live dog fence, you must keep the fence area free of vegetation and mow your lawn at least 1 time per week. This is because if the fence is too overgrown, the electrical voltage will drop and wildlife will no longer be kept out.
