A hay bag is a closed bag made of strong fabric in which you store and carry hay and offer it straight to your horse. Unlike an open net, it keeps the stalks together, so hardly anything falls out in the trailer or stable aisle. First give the bag a good shake to get rid of dust and bits of stalk. Then clean it with water and a brush, or wash it gently at a low temperature. Afterwards, let it air dry completely before refilling it.

That depends a lot on how tightly you pack it and how coarse the hay is. For one meal or a show day with one horse, this size is usually plenty. For longer journeys or two horses, a bigger bag is worth it.
