Automatic Chicken Door - Electronic Opener for the Chicken Coop
The automatic chicken door allows for the automatic opening and closing of chicken flaps, doors, or sliders in poultry houses based on time of day or light levels.
The automatic chicken door is equipped with safety features. A delay in the light signal can prevent unwanted opening during lightning. If the slider encounters resistance from an animal while closing, the process stops and then repeats. The automatic chicken door has several functions for opening/closing the flap:
- Light Sensor: The chicken flap is controlled by a light sensor based on daylight.
- Timer: The chicken door operates based on time. It can differentiate between weekdays and weekends.
- Manual Control: Directly at the device or via a connected switch.

Installation of the Chicken Door:
Plan the installation situation, especially the cord routing from the chicken door to the device. Measure the opening of the chicken flap and prepare a suitable sliding door with guide rails. Suitable sliders and additional pulleys can be found as accessories in our shop. If you want to power the automatic chicken door with mains electricity, ensure that a 230-volt socket is available nearby. The power supply and the installation location of the device must be protected from rain. The automatic Kerbl chicken door is not compatible with sliders or flaps that have a self-locking mechanism.
