Leimüller Cardisaat  - Healthy fat supplier for the winter

The extra portion of healthy fat for the cold season and moult: Natural cardia seed for wild birds, large domestic birds and exotics e.g. parrots, large parakeets and macaws.

Cardisaat (also Cardy or safflower seed) looks very similar to the light-coloured sunflower seeds, but is much smaller and belongs to the thistle genus. The fine seeds are a tasty, very fatty supplementary foodfor various wild birds and larger domestic birds. It is excellent for winter feeding and during moulting.

The protein and oil-rich seeds contain a high amount of vitamin E and 75% unsaturated fatty acids. High quality iron, calcium and an increased protein content of over 25% with over a third less crude fat (30%) make Cardisaat an excellent supplementary feed for wild birds, large parakeets, cockatiels, parrots, macaws, canaries & agapornids. Smaller birds do not like the tasty whole seeds as they cannot break down the hard shell. If you still want to offer the healthy seeds to small birds, it is best to do so as a cooked or pregelatinised food.

Feeding instructions:

Cardisaat is a wonderful addition to regular bird feed and can be used to make wholesome, healthy feed mixes or cooked or sprouted food. Due to its high fat content, cardi seeds should be fed sparingly.

14 % crude protein, 29.5 % crude oils and fats, 21.5 % crude fibre, 5 % crude ash

Storage:

Store the feedstuff hygienically, dry, dark and cool. Protect from direct sunlight.
