Horses with little room in their mouth, such as thoroughbred types or older horses, benefit from a noticeably more comfortable fit.

The slim profile of the KONNEX bar positions itself very comfortably in the horse's mouth, and the significantly broader port ensures even pressure distribution instead of pinpoint pressure on the tongue. Used with one set of reins, the pressure is distributed evenly between the horse's nose, lower jaw and poll; with more rein action, a slight lifting effect on the bit occurs. This makes it ideal for horses that are too sensitive for a plain mouthpiece bit but can't be ridden satisfactorily with a hackamore alone.
