Leimüller Laying Hens Shell Lime Mix is a high-quality mineral supplement feed for laying hens. The high calcium content ensures firm eggshells and healthy growth.
In order for the hens to grow optimally and also for the eggs to develop well even before they are laid, they need a daily dose of calcium. Since most egg layers do not absorb enough calcium through conventional feed, supplementary feeding with Shell Lime is very important. The Leimüller Lime Shellgrit Chicken Feed is a mixture of the three lime types Feed Lime Grit, Monocalcium phosphate and Musselgrit (mussel shells). The interaction of these three varieties covers the daily mineral requirement (especially calcium and phosphorus) for your poultry. The shell limestone mix is slowly soluble and well bioavailable by the organism. Especially for laying hens, the mineral supplement feed is useful, because they have a high mineral requirement to support the eggshell production to be able to ensure.

Feeding recommendation:
An additional admixture of shell lime to the complete feed is normally not necessary, as it is contained in most feeds for laying hens anyway. However, chicken keepers who prepare their own grain feed should ensure that sufficient calcium is added in the form of shell lime to keep their chickens healthy. We recommend mixing in about 50 g of lime-grit mixture per 1 kg of feed, or to provide the shell-grit in an extra bowl for free intake.
