The ixxo active is the all-rounder among the uvex riding helmets – built for beginner riders, leisure riders and anyone looking for one helmet for lessons, training and hacking out. Beneath the matt surface with its slim silhouette sits the hardshell construction of a rigid plastic outer shell and a lightweight EPS core.

It is tested to DIN EN 1384:2023 and made in Germany. You set width and height with the uvex 3D-IAS system, the straps meet in a quickly adjustable Y-divider, and the uvex monomatic buckle opens with one hand, even with gloves on. The continuous ventilation system and the sporty interior with a reduced contact area keep your head dry on warm days too. At 520 grams in the two smaller sizes it wears light. You can choose between black matt, brown matt, navy matt and anthracite matt.

Is the helmet approved for competition?
Yes. It is tested to DIN EN 1384:2023, the current European standard for riding helmets.

How do I find the right size?
Measure your head circumference horizontally above the ears and about one centimetre above the eyebrows. The value in centimetres leads straight to the size: 53-54, 54-56 or 57-59.

How does the ixxo active differ from the ixxo MIPS?
The shell and the adjustment are the same. The ixxo MIPS additionally has the MIPS system, which reduces rotational forces in a fall – the active comes without it.

When do I need to replace the helmet?
After every hard fall or knock to the shell, even if nothing is visible from the outside. The EPS core deforms permanently on impact and no longer offers reliable protection.
