The ixxo MIPS is the all-round riding helmet with an integrated MIPS safety system. MIPS is a movable layer between head and shell: in an angled impact it can shift a fraction and reduces the rotational forces acting on the head.

Underneath works the hardshell construction of a rigid plastic outer shell and a lightweight EPS core, tested to DIN EN 1384:2023 and made in Germany. You set the fit with the uvex 3D-IAS system in width and height, joined by an easy-to-use strap divider. The uvex monomatic buckle opens with one hand and with gloves on. Large ventilation channels and the sporty interior keep the head climate cool. The weight is 550 grams in the two smaller sizes.

What exactly does MIPS do?
MIPS sits as a movable layer between the liner pads and the shell. If the head strikes at an angle, this layer shifts by a few millimetres and absorbs part of the rotation instead of passing it on to the head.

Is the helmet approved for competition?
Yes. It is tested to DIN EN 1384:2023, the current European standard for riding helmets.

How do I find the right size?
Measure your head circumference horizontally above the ears and about one centimetre above the eyebrows. The value in centimetres leads straight to the size: 53-54, 54-56 or 57-59.

When do I need to replace the helmet?
After every hard fall or knock to the shell, even if nothing is visible from the outside. The EPS core deforms permanently on impact and no longer offers reliable protection.
