The ixxo xc MIPS is the cross-country version of the ixxo. The glossy visor gives the helmet an aerodynamic profile, keeps the view ahead clear and shields the face from twigs and branches.

Two systems work together for protection: the hardshell construction of a rigid plastic outer shell and a lightweight EPS core absorbs the impact, while the integrated MIPS system reduces the rotational forces in an angled fall. The helmet is tested to DIN EN 1384:2023 and made in Germany. You set width and height with the uvex 3D-IAS system, and the uvex monomatic buckle opens with one hand, even with gloves on. Generous ventilation channels and the sporty interior keep the helmet climate pleasant when the going gets hard out cross-country. 530 grams in the two smaller sizes.

What does the xc in the name stand for?

What exactly does MIPS do?
MIPS sits as a movable layer between the liner pads and the shell. If the head strikes at an angle, this layer shifts by a few millimetres and absorbs part of the rotation instead of passing it on to the head.

How do I find the right size?
Measure your head circumference horizontally above the ears and about one centimetre above the eyebrows. The value in centimetres leads straight to the size: 53-54, 54-56 or 57-59.

When do I need to replace the helmet?
After every hard fall or knock to the shell, even if nothing is visible from the outside. The EPS core deforms permanently on impact and no longer offers reliable protection.
