The perfect snack for in between: Leimüller Piston millet are a healthy companion - for a whole bird's life!

Piston millet is also known as foxtail millet, broom millet, fennich, mohar, bird millet, German millet, Italian millet, Hungarian millet, navane and kangni. These healthy treats for birds are characterised by the fact that they contain very little fat, namely only 4 g per 100 g of millet. This makes them a much lower calorie snack than high-fat sunflower seeds, which have 50 g of fat per 100 g of seeds.

Birds love the tasty cob millet and it is great fun for them to "work" the millet kernels out of the cob themselves. This promotes the well-being of the birds and relieves boredom. As supplementary food for budgies, parrots, sparrows, exotics, canaries or even wild birds, millet is an irresistible treat.

But watch out: Birds fly for millet and therefore they should only be offered to the animals as an occasional snack. Otherwise your feathered friends will ingest too large quantities and would spurn normal bird food.

Feeding advice:
