Boarmate Boar Scent Spray – pinpoint the ideal insemination moment

The Boarmate boar scent spray helps you identify the optimal mating or insemination time in sows and gilts. This synthetic boar pheromone spray mimics the natural boar odour, making heat detection reliable even without a live boar on site.

When sprayed, sows and gilts ready for mating show a clear standing reflex – the ideal signal for artificial insemination. This helps resolve heat-detection problems caused by the absence of a boar and increases the success rate of artificial insemination. The spray can also support boars with low libido.

Overview:

  • Identifies the optimal insemination timing in sows and gilts
  • Makes detecting "silent heat" and non-cycling sows easier
  • No teaser boar required on farm
  • Shortens the time between weaning and re-insemination
  • Supports earlier first insemination of gilts
  • Cost-effective thanks to low volume per application

Application & Notes:

  • Spray for max. 2 seconds from approx. 60 cm onto the snout of the sow or gilt
  • Then apply pressure to the animal's back – a standing reflex confirms readiness for insemination
  • Store cool at 10–30 °C, separate from oxidising agents
  • Use outdoors or in well-ventilated areas only
  • Use with care, always read product information before use

Technical Data:

  • Contains a pheromone blend (incl. androstenone) resembling natural boar odour
  • Yield: approx. 40 applications (80 ml) or approx. 125 applications (250 ml)
  • Aerosol spray in pressurised can
  • Available with different language labels depending on pack size

Scope of Delivery:

1x Boarmate boar scent spray
1x Note: label language varies by variant (e.g. DE/EN, FR/ES, DA/PL)

Questions & Answers:

How many applications does one can provide?
An 80 ml can provides approx. 40 applications, a 250 ml can approx. 125 applications, each at max. 2 seconds spray time.

When should I use Boarmate on gilts?
Gilts usually reach their first heat at around 7 months of age. The breeder decides on the timing of first insemination – Boarmate helps identify the right moment.

Does Boarmate fully replace a live boar?
Boarmate makes heat detection easier without keeping a boar on farm, though additional contact with a boar can further improve detection reliability.
