The Blitz cattle stunner is a proven captive bolt device for the fast and safe stunning of pigs, calves, cattle, horses and sheep. It is approved as an animal stunning device by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) Braunschweig in Germany (PTB no. 1011) and may only be used to stun animals intended for slaughter.
The energy of the cartridge is transferred to the bolt, which penetrates the skull into the animal's brain and is safely decelerated by the built-in bolt spring and rubber buffer. The bolt's penetration also triggers a pressure wave, resulting in immediate and reliable stunning so the animal can be slaughtered painlessly. The solid, nickel-plated construction ensures durability and low recoil, even in daily rough use.
