Strong containment for long fences: Agrarzone N 8500 mains electric fence energiser 230 V
The Agrarzone N 8500 is a mains electric fence energiser for 230 V for long permanent fences where grass and undergrowth also grow. Connected to the farm power supply, it powers your fence for cattle, horses, sheep and goats around the clock, with no battery changes at all. You also keep wild boar and wolves at a distance with it.
With 12 joules of stored energy the energiser stores a lot of energy, and 8,5 joules reach the fence as a pulse. It is exactly this pulse energy that ensures a clearly noticeable shock, even when vegetation on the wire leaks current. The voltage alone says little about it. Using the two power levels you adjust the strength to the animal species and fence length, and the LED display shows you fence voltage and earthing at a glance.

Questions & answers:
Isn't the energiser too strong for horses?
No. The pulses are very short, unpleasant but harmless. For horse paddocks with shorter fences the low level is often enough, what matters is around 2.500 V on the fence, and along public paths a warning sign belongs on the fence.
Is the N 8500 suitable for a wolf protection fence?
Yes, the energiser is also designed for deterring wolves. Under load it still delivers 6.800 V with 8,5 joules of pulse energy. What matters is that at least 4.000 V arrives even at the furthest point of the fence.
How many earth rods do I need?
For the N 8500 you need four earth rods of 1 m or two of 2 m length. Drive them into moist ground, away from buildings, at least 3 m apart, and connect them to each other. In dry ground you set additional earth rods.
