An infestation with the red bird mite (Dermanyssus gallinae) is usually a big scare for quail keepers. After all, these pests can become very threatening for the poultry. As a false host, the arachnid can also spread to mammals and humans. The best thing is to prevent the red bird mite from infesting the quails in the barn in the first place. The solution for a reduced infestation of mites lies, among other things, in the feed.
The Leimüller Laying quail feed pellets are a balanced complete feed for laying quails and are suitable for the entire lifetime. Due to the full supply of important nutrients, vitamins, minerals and trace elements, your birds will receive the best possible care. The special feature of Leimüller's quail feed is the special aromatic compounds. The natural active ingredient against these ectoparasites enters the bloodstream of the quails with the feed and the smell of the quail changes. The herbal extract in the quail feed, which consists exclusively of essential oils based on citrus peel, cloves and herbs, makes the quail no longer attractive to the mite and its food source dries up. Since the mite can only reproduce by ingesting blood, its mass reproduction is stopped.
The advantage of pellets over granulated or mealy quail feed is that segregation during storage is impossible. In addition, selective feeding behaviour plus possible contamination is reduced. Through the pellets, the animals automatically absorb the complete balanced mixture of nutrients. This feed mix is guaranteed GMO-free and certified with the pastus+ AMA seal of quality.

Feeding recommendation:
Offer to the quails for free intake. If you change from mealy to pelleted feed, this will require some time to get used to.
