The healthy hazelnut is a species-appropriate and natural squirrel food. Rich in many valuable nutrients and vitamins, they support the cute squirrels in their search for food all year round.
With hazelnuts you become a squirrel magnet, as the cute forest dwellers love the aromatic nutty taste. Hazelnuts are part of the squirrels' natural food supply and are ideal for year-round, species-appropriate feeding. The nuts are extra with shell, because cracking nuts is at the same time a sensible, natural activity for the nut lovers.
Our hazelnuts contain many unsaturated fatty acids and are a good source of protein. In addition, the nuts are rich in B vitamins, magnesium, calcium, potassium and trace elements.
In spring and summer, feeding hazelnuts helps the squirrels to raise their young and in autumn you help to create enough reserves for the winter so that the little squirrels get through the cold season well. The nuts are also a healthy treat for rabbits and rodents e.g. hamsters and guinea pigs. However, you should crack the nuts open, as the animals are usually unable to open the shell on their own.

Hazelnuts are very suitable for year-round feeding and you will see that nuts are rarely left lying around. Squirrels are diligent nut collectors and start building up stores for the cold season already in early autumn.

Eichkatzen sind ganz wild darauf
Schon wenige Minuten nachdem ich die neuen Nüsse in die Futterbox gegeben habe, war die erste Eichkatze am naschen. Seitdem werden täglich ca. 50 - 70 g gefressen oder als Wintervorrat in der Wiese vergraben.
