Questions & answers:
Why do wild boar react so strongly to truffle?
Truffles contain substances that resemble the sex pheromones of male pigs. That is why truffles have traditionally been hunted with sows, and the attractant makes use of exactly this scent.
Truffle, beech tar or anise: which do I use for what?
You brush beech tar onto the rubbing tree where the boar scratch themselves. Truffle is used as a scent directly on the bait, while anise appeals to many game species.
How much should I spray on the bait site?
A few sprays on the bait are usually enough. You can also use it to make a bait site the boar have stopped visiting interesting again.
