BUSSE Bradoon Bit Stainless Steel – calm contact for precise rein aids
The BUSSE Bradoon Bit Stainless Steel is a single-jointed bit designed to be used together with a curb bit as part of a full bridoon bridle. Its stable position in the horse's mouth supports clear, gentle rein communication, making it a reliable choice for dressage and everyday schooling.
The solid, heavyweight construction keeps the bit calm and steady, reducing unwanted movement that can unsettle a horse. All connecting links are matched precisely to the bit size and thickness, ensuring mouthpiece and rings work together smoothly. Fitted correctly within the double bridle, this bradoon supports a soft yet effective way of riding, whether at home or in competition.

FAQ:
How should the bradoon be fitted correctly?
Make sure the BUSSE logo sits on the horse's left side, with the hollow side of the bit facing the throat and the other side facing the corner of the mouth.
Can I use the bradoon on its own, without a curb bit?
No, the bradoon is always used together with a curb bit as part of a double bridle.
Which bit width fits my horse?
Measure your horse's mouth beforehand with a bit width gauge to select the correct size between 12.5 and 15.5 cm.
Warning/safety instructions for bits
A bit should have the correct width for the horse's mouth, which is measured on the horse in advance. The BUSSE bit width gauge is suitable for this.
The choice of the right type of bit is individual and depends on many factors - such as the horse's level of training, its mouth shape and sensitivity, and the rider's hand. Therefore, it makes sense to try out dentures.
When strapping in the bit, make sure that it is strapped in correctly: the BUSSE logo is on the left side of the horse's head, with the hollow side of the bit pointing towards the throat and the other side towards the mouth outlet . (If the bit is correctly positioned in front of you, you can read the size label on the right shank the right way up - it is not upside down.)
It is important that the bit fits correctly into the bit straps of the bridle or curb is buckled. When buckled correctly using the bit straps, approx. 2-3 small wrinkles will form at the corners of the mouth.
The bit should be checked regularly for signs of wear, such as sharp edges, and replaced if necessary. Please only use the bit if it is in an appropriate condition that does not harm the horse's well-being.
