BUSSE Olive Head Bit KAUGAN 16 mm - a calm, well-accepted bit for your horse

The BUSSE Olive Head Bit KAUGAN 16 mm is a single-jointed snaffle designed for riders who want a stable position in the horse's mouth combined with clear rein communication. The solid construction keeps the bit steady, while the KAUGAN mouthpiece encourages chewing. Suitable for leisure, dressage and show jumping horses at any training level.

KAUGAN is a nickel-free copper alloy that warms up in the horse's mouth and oxidises slightly, which stimulates salivation and supports a relaxed, satisfied chewing contact. The connecting links are matched precisely to the bit size and thickness, and the stainless steel rings provide lasting stability and easy care in daily stable use.

FAQ:

How do I find the right bit size?
Measure your horse's mouth width beforehand, for example with a bit width gauge, and choose the matching size – a bit that's too short presses into the corners of the mouth.

How is the bit fitted correctly?
The hollow side of the bit faces the throat, the other side faces the mouth opening; make sure the orientation is correct when buckling it into the bridle.

Which horses suit KAUGAN?
KAUGAN is particularly suited to horses that are more reluctant to accept metal bits, as the copper alloy stimulates chewing.

Warning/safety information

Warning/safety instructions for bits

A bit should have the correct width for the horse's mouth, which is measured on the horse in advance. The BUSSE bit width gauge is suitable for this.

The choice of the right type of bit is individual and depends on many factors - such as the horse's level of training, its mouth shape and sensitivity, and the rider's hand. Therefore, it makes sense to try out dentures.

When strapping in the bit, make sure that it is strapped in correctly: the BUSSE logo is on the left side of the horse's head, with the hollow side of the bit pointing towards the throat and the other side towards the mouth outlet . (If the bit is correctly positioned in front of you, you can read the size label on the right shank the right way up - it is not upside down.)

It is important that the bit fits correctly into the bit straps of the bridle or curb is buckled. When buckled correctly using the bit straps, approx. 2-3 small wrinkles will form at the corners of the mouth.

The bit should be checked regularly for signs of wear, such as sharp edges, and replaced if necessary. Please only use the bit if it is in an appropriate condition that does not harm the horse's well-being.
