BUSSE Soft-Ring Snaffle Bit KAUGAN-SHAPED, 16 mm, Double-Jointed – balanced action for clear communication
The BUSSE Soft-Ring Snaffle Bit KAUGAN-SHAPED is double-jointed with an ellipse-shaped centrepiece that gives your horse a balanced action on the tongue and bars. The KAUGAN mouthpiece encourages salivation and improves acceptance in the horse's mouth, making it a great choice for riders who want quiet, steady contact.
Thanks to the small rings built into the main ring, you get three different buckling options that can be adjusted individually to your horse's training level – from a classic snaffle action to slight additional pressure on the poll or lower jaw. Compared to a 3-ring gag, the shorter leverage means less pressure on the poll, making it a practical option for horses that occasionally need a bit more control but are sensitive around the poll.

FAQ:
What buckling options does the bit offer?
You can choose between three options: classic snaffle action, slight extra poll pressure, or slight pressure on the lower jaw and tongue – depending on your horse's training level.
Which horses is this bit best suited for?
It's ideal for horses that occasionally need a bit more control, since the shorter leverage reduces poll pressure at the same time.
How do I choose the right bit size?
Choose the mouthpiece width to match your horse's mouth – correctly fitted, it should form 2-3 small wrinkles at the corners of the mouth.
Warning/safety instructions for bits
A bit should have the correct width for the horse's mouth, which is measured on the horse in advance. The BUSSE bit width gauge is suitable for this.
The choice of the right type of bit is individual and depends on many factors - such as the horse's level of training, its mouth shape and sensitivity, and the rider's hand. Therefore, it makes sense to try out dentures.
When strapping in the bit, make sure that it is strapped in correctly: the BUSSE logo is on the left side of the horse's head, with the hollow side of the bit pointing towards the throat and the other side towards the mouth outlet . (If the bit is correctly positioned in front of you, you can read the size label on the right shank the right way up - it is not upside down.)
It is important that the bit fits correctly into the bit straps of the bridle or curb is buckled. When buckled correctly using the bit straps, approx. 2-3 small wrinkles will form at the corners of the mouth.
The bit should be checked regularly for signs of wear, such as sharp edges, and replaced if necessary. Please only use the bit if it is in an appropriate condition that does not harm the horse's well-being.
