BUSSE Full-Cheek Snaffle Bit – calm contact and clear lateral guidance
The BUSSE Full-Cheek Snaffle Bit is a classic snaffle with a single-jointed mouthpiece and 7 cm long cheeks, designed for riders who want precise lateral guidance of their horse. The cheeks support clear framing when using a one-sided rein aid and significantly reduce the risk of the mouthpiece being pulled through to one side.
The solid construction ensures a calm, steady contact in the horse's mouth, as all connecting links are matched exactly to the respective bit size and thickness. Mouthpiece, cheeks and rings are made of high-quality stainless steel, making the bit durable and easy to care for in daily yard and competition use. For extra security, separately available cheek bit loops can fix the upper cheek to the headpiece and prevent it catching under the noseband.

FAQ:
How do I find the right bit width for my horse?
Measure the mouth beforehand, for example with a bit width gauge, so the bit sits neither too tight nor too loose.
What should I watch out for when fitting the bit?
The BUSSE logo should sit on the left side of the horse's head, with the hollow side of the bit facing the throat and the other side facing the corner of the mouth.
Who is this full-cheek snaffle particularly suitable for?
For riders looking for a classic single-jointed snaffle with lateral guidance and a calm, steady mouth contact.
Warning/safety instructions for bits
A bit should have the correct width for the horse's mouth, which is measured on the horse in advance. The BUSSE bit width gauge is suitable for this.
The choice of the right type of bit is individual and depends on many factors - such as the horse's level of training, its mouth shape and sensitivity, and the rider's hand. Therefore, it makes sense to try out dentures.
When strapping in the bit, make sure that it is strapped in correctly: the BUSSE logo is on the left side of the horse's head, with the hollow side of the bit pointing towards the throat and the other side towards the mouth outlet . (If the bit is correctly positioned in front of you, you can read the size label on the right shank the right way up - it is not upside down.)
It is important that the bit fits correctly into the bit straps of the bridle or curb is buckled. When buckled correctly using the bit straps, approx. 2-3 small wrinkles will form at the corners of the mouth.
The bit should be checked regularly for signs of wear, such as sharp edges, and replaced if necessary. Please only use the bit if it is in an appropriate condition that does not harm the horse's well-being.
