BUSSE Bradoon Bit KAUGAN – the comfortable companion for your curb bit
The BUSSE Bradoon Bit KAUGAN is the classic bradoon bit designed to be ridden together with a curb bit. Its single-jointed, solidly built KAUGAN mouthpiece keeps the bit calm in the horse's mouth and encourages better acceptance – a great fit for small horses and final-measurement ponies.
The mouthpiece is made from BUSSE's own patented KAUGAN alloy, a nickel-free metal alloy with a high copper content. This copper content encourages your horse's chewing activity and salivation without diminishing the effect of the curb bit. All connecting links are precisely matched to the bit size and thickness, while the robust stainless-steel rings ensure long-lasting durability for daily yard and competition use.

FAQ:
What is a bradoon bit used for?
A bradoon bit is used together with a curb bit to relieve extra pressure on the tongue and bars, making the overall action gentler.
Which size fits my curb bit?
The bradoon should be at least 5 mm wider than your curb bit to avoid pinching at the corners of the mouth.
Which curb bit matches this bradoon?
It pairs well with the KAUGAN dressage curb bit with tapered tongue relief, 12 mm (item #145022).
Warning/safety instructions for bits
A bit should have the correct width for the horse's mouth, which is measured on the horse in advance. The BUSSE bit width gauge is suitable for this.
The choice of the right type of bit is individual and depends on many factors - such as the horse's level of training, its mouth shape and sensitivity, and the rider's hand. Therefore, it makes sense to try out dentures.
When strapping in the bit, make sure that it is strapped in correctly: the BUSSE logo is on the left side of the horse's head, with the hollow side of the bit pointing towards the throat and the other side towards the mouth outlet . (If the bit is correctly positioned in front of you, you can read the size label on the right shank the right way up - it is not upside down.)
It is important that the bit fits correctly into the bit straps of the bridle or curb is buckled. When buckled correctly using the bit straps, approx. 2-3 small wrinkles will form at the corners of the mouth.
The bit should be checked regularly for signs of wear, such as sharp edges, and replaced if necessary. Please only use the bit if it is in an appropriate condition that does not harm the horse's well-being.
