The Waldhausen Stirrup Loop is a looped stirrup leather: the strap runs through the iron and is looped back at the top, so that only one layer of leather sits between your leg and the saddle flap. Your leg lies closer to the horse, the saddle builds up less bulk in that spot, and no buckle presses under your thigh.

The leather is soft and supple and runs quietly through the iron from the very first ride. Inside sits a nylon core that carries the load, so the strap does not stretch unevenly over time – the reason plain leather leathers so often end up a hole apart from left to right. The stirrup length is changed quickly and without tools, even from the saddle.
