Agrarzone Duck Feed Grains 20 kg

Grain feed for ducks, runner ducks and chickens: Agrarzone Duck Feed Grains 20 kg

The Agrarzone Duck Feed is a grain mix of wheat, maize and malting barley that you can offer to ducks, runner ducks and chickens. As a compound feed for poultry it covers a mixed flock, so you do not need a separate feed for every species.

The maize is coarsely ground, which makes it easy to pick up with a broad duck bill. At 12.89 MJ ME per kg the mix brings plenty of energy, but it deliberately contains no added vitamins or minerals. It is a grain feed to complement the ration, not a complete feed. The grains are cleaned several times, low in dust and come in a tear-resistant paper sack.

Overview:

• Compound feed for poultry, suitable for ducks, runner ducks and chickens
• Only four ingredients: wheat, maize, malting barley and sunflower oil
• Coarsely ground maize, easy for ducks to pick up
• Without preservatives, additives and artificial flavourings
• Cleaned several times and low in dust
• Suitable for the production of GMO-free food
• Made in Austria, in a tear-resistant paper sack

Feeding recommendation:

Offer the grains for free intake and always keep fresh drinking water next to them. Ducks like to take grain right beside the drinker.

Please note: the mix contains no added vitamins, minerals or trace elements. Those come from a mineral or complementary feed added to the daily ration. At 0.05 % calcium it also falls well short of what laying hens need, so offer oyster shell grit alongside.

Questions & answers:

Can my chickens eat the duck feed too?
Yes. It is a compound feed for poultry and is intended for chickens as well. With laying hens you should add a calcium source, because the grains themselves provide very little.

Do I need to soak the grains?
No, that is not necessary. Ducks take dry grain well as long as water is close by. Many keepers simply place the bowl next to the drinker.

Why does it contain so little calcium?
Because this is a pure grain feed. Wheat, maize and barley are naturally low in calcium. Laying hens need considerably more for the eggshell, which comes from grit or a mineral feed.
