Feeding Recommendation:

To safely utilize the benefits of our alfalfa pellets, we recommend always soaking them with sufficient water before feeding (guideline: 1 part pellets to 2 parts water). This is particularly important for horses and fast eaters to ensure safe swelling and prevent choke. Let the pellets soak until they have reached a mash-like consistency. For small animals, small amounts can often be fed dry, provided that fresh water is always available. Start with small amounts and introduce the feed slowly. The exact quantity depends on the animal species and individual needs.
