Herbs for clear airways: Agrarzone BronchoPlus 500 ml
Agrarzone BronchoPlus is a liquid complementary feed for poultry for clear airways. At its core sits the 6-herb bronchial extract, joined by the essential amino acid L-lysine. You give it via the drinking water.
The six herbs are thyme, wild thyme, chestnut, chamomile, fennel and anise, together 120.000 mg of extract per litre. Added to this are 7.800 mg of L-lysine per litre, an amino acid the chicken does not form itself and takes in through the feed.
Soothing under strain: BronchoPlus is meant for the days when there is more dust in the coop than usual, in winter with the hatches closed or after a bedding change. It is given as needed 3 to 4 times a week, 5 ml per litre of drinking water.
Overview:
- For clear airways, with 6-herb bronchial extract
- Liquid complementary feed for poultry, given via the drinker
- Flavouring blend of six herbs: thyme, wild thyme, chestnut, chamomile, fennel, anise
- Flavourings content of 120.000 mg per litre
- With L-lysine monohydrochloride (3c322), 7.800 mg per litre
- 3 to 4x a week as needed, 5 ml per litre of drinking water
- Net volume 500 ml, minimum shelf life 24 months from production
Feeding recommendation:
Administer 5 ml per litre of drinking water 3 to 4 times a week as required. For a 5 litre drinker bucket that is 25 ml.
3 to 4 doses a week as needed are intended, so a rhythm with breaks rather than a continuous supply. On the other days the birds get plain drinking water, and you should not increase the number of doses per week. Only mix as much as the birds drink on the same day.
Composition:
Propylene glycol, dextrose, sugar beet molasses, magnesium chloride, sodium chloride
The composition lists the feed materials in descending order of their share. Propylene glycol, dextrose and sugar beet molasses form the liquid base here, carrying the herb extracts and the lysine.
Analytical constituents:
- Crude protein: 1,10 %
- Crude fat: 0,20 %
- Crude fibre: 0,10 %
- Crude ash: 1,30 %
- Sodium: 0,05 %
- Magnesium: 0,33 %
- Moisture: 83,40 %
The analytical constituents refer to the undiluted product in the bottle, not to the ready drinking water. In the bucket it becomes 5 ml per litre, so the figures dilute accordingly.
Additives per litre:
- Nutritional additives: L-lysine monohydrochloride, technically pure (3c322) 7.800 mg
- Sensory additives, 2b flavourings: Mixture of flavourings (extracts of thyme, wild thyme, chestnut, chamomile, fennel, anise) 120.000 mg
- Technological additives: Citric acid (1a330) 4.000 mg, potassium sorbate (1k202) 1.000 mg, sodium propionate (1k281) 2.000 mg
Additives are grouped according to their function. Nutritional additives are nutrients such as vitamins, trace elements or amino acids, here the L-lysine. Sensory additives shape smell and taste, technological additives keep the product in the bottle stable. All figures refer to one litre of undiluted product.
Storage:
Store BronchoPlus hygienically, cool and dry, then the minimum shelf life of 24 months from production is maintained. No liability is accepted in the case of improper storage. Keep the product out of reach of children.

Questions and answers:
Can I not simply brew a thyme tea myself and add it to the water?
You can of course brew one, many keepers do. The difference lies in the quantity and in the consistency: with a home brewed infusion you do not know how much of the herbs actually ends up in the water, while BronchoPlus declares 120.000 mg of aroma mixture per litre and the same six herbs every time. On top of that comes the exact dosage of 5 ml per litre of drinking water and a bottle that keeps for 24 months.
What is L-lysine doing in there, I only know it from broiler feed?
Lysine is an essential amino acid, a building block for body protein and feathers that the chicken cannot produce itself. BronchoPlus contains 7.800 mg per litre. To be straight with you: a needs-based layer feed usually covers the requirement already.
Is this something for the moult?
The moult is not an illness but the annual change of feathers, and during it the hen builds a lot of feather protein. Lysine is one of the building blocks of that protein and reaches every bird via the drinker. What we cannot promise is that the moult will pass faster.
