Agrarzone ChickStart Plus is a complementary feed for poultry for a vital start in life. It promotes healthy growth and is ideal from day 1. You give it via the drinking water or the feed, it is made in Austria.

On day one chicks know neither drinker nor trough, and experience shows they drink more reliably than they eat. That is why both routes are provided. Via the water you reach all the chicks at the same time, via the feed you put the amount where they are eating anyway.

Declared are ten vitamins, from vitamin A through the B complex to biotin and vitamin E, plus the probiotic Bacillus subtilis C-3102 as a gut flora stabiliser. The dose is 5 g per litre of drinking water or per kg of feed, for a 0,5 litre chick drinker that comes to 2,5 g.

Feeding recommendation:

Both routes are equivalent, the amount stays the same. Via the drinking water you reach all the chicks at the same time, via the feed you put the amount where the birds are eating anyway. For a 0,5 litre chick drinker that comes to 2,5 g. Mix the water fresh every day and throw away yesterday's remainder, the mix contains glucose and that is food for germs too.

Zootechnical additives are specifically authorised substances assigned to the digestive process. Bacillus subtilis C-3102 belongs to the functional group of gut flora stabilisers, CFU stands for colony forming units, that is the number of viable bacteria.

Storage:

Questions and answers:

Do I need this at all if I feed a ready made chick starter?
A chick starter is a complete feed matched to the requirements of the first weeks. ChickStart Plus is not a replacement for it, it is an addition via the water or the feed. In the first days chicks drink more reliably than they eat, and through the water you reach every bird.

What is Bacillus subtilis, and what is a probiotic anyway?
Bacillus subtilis C-3102 is a bacterium authorised as a zootechnical additive for poultry, in the functional group of gut flora stabilisers. Probiotic is the everyday word for live microorganisms taken up with the feed or the water. ChickStart Plus contains 20x10E10 CFU of them per kg.

My broody hen is rearing the chicks. Can I still give it, and may the hen drink it too?
Yes. It is a complementary feed for poultry, the hen belongs to that just as much as the chicks, and the dose refers to the amount of water anyway. With natural brooding the drinker is the real issue: the hen needs a vessel she can drink from, the chicks one they cannot drown in.
