Agrarzone MiteCare mite spray for the chicken coop, 1 litre
The Agrarzone MiteCare mite spray is a housing spray for poultry houses on a purely plant-based formulation. It is part of regular coop care and is sprayed wherever the fittings have crevices and joints: onto perches, resting points and into gaps. You work on the house, not on the bird.
Safe for people and animals: birds and feed can stay in the house during the application, but you still avoid spraying the birds directly from close range. The formulation consists of water, ethanol, plant lipoids and amphoteric surfactants.
The spray is ready to use, nothing is mixed or diluted, and it comes in the 1 litre spray bottle with a spray head. Reckon on around 0,1 to 0,2 litres per square metre, and clean the fittings and the floor thoroughly beforehand.
Overview:
- Housing spray with a purely plant-based formulation
- Housing spray specifically for poultry houses
- Sprayed on undiluted, no mixing required
- Targeted for perches, resting points and crevices
- Around 0,1 to 0,2 litres per square metre of surface
- Birds and feed can stay in the house
- Made in Germany
Application:
Shake before use. The fittings and the floor of the bird housing should be thoroughly cleaned beforehand. Spray the fittings and surfaces of the house thinly, around 0,1 to 0,2 l per m². In particular, the perches should be sprayed on the underside and at the resting points. Spray possible hiding places of the mites in crevices specifically. Soak deposits of dirt with sufficient liquid. During the application, birds and feed can stay in the house. However, spraying the birds directly from close range should be avoided.
The order of work: First clear everything out, then clean thoroughly and let it dry, and only then spray, because on a layer of dirt the spray lands on the dirt. Easily missed are the underside of the perches, the joints between two boards, the corners of the nest boxes and the back of droppings boards.
Ingredients:
Water, ethanol, plant lipids, amphoteric surfactants.
Safety notes:
Do not breathe the spray mist. Avoid contact with eyes and skin, and if necessary rinse the eyes thoroughly or clean the skin with soap and water. If swallowed, seek medical advice. Dispose of the empty bottle in accordance with local regulations. Store cool, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the use-by date has passed.
Shelf life and storage:
Minimum shelf life 24 months from production. Store cool and protected from light. You will find the batch identification number and the use-by date on the separate label on the bottle.

Questions and answers:
Does the spray work against the red mite or not?
The MiteCare mite spray is a housing spray for the chicken coop and belongs to the regular care of the house. You apply it ready to use on the cleaned surfaces and fittings, above all on the underside of the perches, the resting points and the crevices. Coop hygiene remains the basis: clear it out, clean it thoroughly, close crevices and check regularly.
How do I even notice that I have mites in the house? I see nothing during the day.
The red mite is active at night and sits in crevices, nests and under the perches during the day. Go into the house with a torch after dark, or wrap a piece of adhesive tape around a perch in the evening. Other signs are pale combs and birds that no longer want to go in at night.
I cleaned the house and a week later they are back. What am I doing wrong?
That is down to the biology: under favourable conditions it takes around seven days from the egg to the adult mite, and a female lays eggs every day for weeks. Whatever sits deep in a crevice as an egg on cleaning day is adult a week later. Without a blood meal the mite also survives several months.
