An extensive dust bath is a fixed part of the daily routine for chickens, it is their natural plumage care. With the Agrarzone Dust Bath Plus you offer your poultry 100 % premium zeolite for it, more precisely clinoptilolite, a rock powder of volcanic origin.

It is dry, very fine and free flowing, which is exactly what a hen needs for bathing. The birds scratch out a hollow, work the material into their feathers and shake it out again afterwards. The dust bath is offered in a tray for free use at all times, and the birds help themselves.

The Dust Bath Plus consists exclusively of clinoptilolite, so it contains no fragrances or colourants and no other additions.

Directions for use:

Provide the dust bath to the animals in a tub for free choice.

The spot decides: The tray has to stand dry and sheltered from rain, in the house, under a canopy or in a shelter, because once the material gets wet it clumps and is no longer used. Reckon on around one square metre of surface and fill it deep enough for a hen to scratch a hollow. Remove droppings as you go and change the material as soon as it is damp or clumping.

Safety notes:

The product is not subject to labelling under CLP. Dust formation is possible, therefore dust protection is recommended. Avoid contact with the eyes. Clean hands after use.

Shelf life:

Questions and answers:

Won't ordinary play sand from the DIY store do just as well?
Play sand is washed quartz sand and is used by many keepers as the basis for the dust bath, and that works. The Dust Bath Plus is a different material: a purely mineral rock powder of clinoptilolite, considerably finer than sand and without any addition. Many people combine the two.

Is this the same as diatomaceous earth?
No, these are two different rocks. Diatomaceous earth is a fossil sedimentary rock made from the shells of diatoms, clinoptilolite is a zeolite mineral of volcanic origin. Both come to market as a fine powder and both have to stay dry.

Can I mix wood ash in, the way many people do?
Wood ash from a stove or an open wood fire is mixed into the dust bath by many keepers, that is common practice. Ash from barbecue charcoal or briquettes, on the other hand, does not belong in it. If you do mix, do it dry and in moderation, and sieve out coarse pieces beforehand.
