Leimüller Canary Germ Food

Well digestible and balanced germ food for cooking and swelling. Also ideal for breeding.

Leimüller germ food is an ideal swelling and germ food for all canaries and carduelids. The germ food is also ideal for breeding. The feed mix contains only seeds with a high processing quality, which have a particularly high germination capacity, such as mung beans, chicory seeds and negro seeds. Feeding with the germinated or swollen bird food has many advantages for your canary and should therefore not be missing from any menu. By soaking/boiling in water, the sprouted seeds can be digested much better and the animal gets easier access to important nutrients. The high enzyme content also helps digest the normal seeds and grains.

The traditional brand Leimüller is very familiar with the nutritional needs of canaries and carduelids. The quality and regular control of the sprouted food is particularly important. For this purpose, annual certifications and constant internal improvement processes are carried out. Leimüller is certified according to the AMA seal of quality (pastus+), QS and GMO-free production. The domestic raw materials for the bird feed are sourced from the region. The feed is carefully packed and delivered in a tear-proof, environmentally friendly paper bag.

Feeding instructions:

Before germination, wash the seeds thoroughly several times in a sieve under lukewarm running water. For germination, the seeds can swell in a germinator or in a sieve standing in water for a maximum of 8 to 12 hours (e.g. overnight). The seeds should not be left in water longer than this, otherwise they will start to ferment.

After the soaking time has elapsed (8 to 12 h), the water is poured off and the already finished pregelatinised food is washed again in a kitchen sieve. Let the water drip off and protect the sieve with the grains from dust. A lid or a cloth is suitable for this. The grains can now germinate in the sieve for between 24 and 48 hours at as constant a temperature as possible.

The germs should be washed approx. every 12 hours to avoid mould formation and drying out of the germs. After washing several times and germinating, you can offer your birds the food after approx. 24 to 36 hours of germination time. Before that, still rinse thoroughly and allow to drain.
