This frost-protection heating cable with thermostat keeps your water pipe frost-free down to max. -45°C, so drinking bowls and supply pipes keep working right through winter. As a pipe trace heating cable, it reliably prevents water pipes from freezing and protects you from costly frost damage.

The built-in thermostat automatically switches the cable on at approx. +3°C and off again at approx. +13°C, so there's no need for manual monitoring. The cable is designed for heating the branch pipe of drinking troughs and is not suitable for central heating pipes. In areas animals can reach, fit an additional bite guard. If you add extra insulation around the pipe, do not insulate the thermostat itself, so it can measure the temperature accurately.

Can I shorten the cable if I need a shorter length?
No, the heating cable must never be shortened. Order the correct length in advance; any excess length can be wound in loops around the pipe.

Is the cable suitable for areas animals can bite?
No, never fit a 230V cable unprotected where animals can reach it. Use only 24-volt heating cables there or fit an additional bite guard.

Does the thermostat need to be insulated too?
No, if you insulate the pipe further, only insulate the thermostat moderately or not at all so it can measure the temperature correctly.
