BUSSE Double Bridle Bit KAUGAN, Tapered Tongue Relief – extra comfort for horses with a small head

The BUSSE Double Bridle Bit KAUGAN, Tapered Tongue Relief, 12 mm is a solid curb bit designed for riders who value comfort and precise control in dressage. Its flat, tapering tongue relief gives your horse's tongue extra room even under a flatter palate – ideal for small-sized ponies, small horses or horses with very small, delicate heads.

The KAUGAN mouthpiece is a nickel-free copper alloy that supports acceptance and salivation in the mouth. The solid construction keeps the bit steady and quiet, allowing rein aids to be transmitted more finely and evenly. Practical for everyday use: this curb bit pairs perfectly with the KAUGAN bradoon 10.5 mm (item #145079), provided the bradoon is at least 5 mm wider than the curb bit.

Warning/safety information

Warning/safety instructions for bits

A bit should have the correct width for the horse's mouth, which is measured on the horse in advance. The BUSSE bit width gauge is suitable for this.

The choice of the right type of bit is individual and depends on many factors - such as the horse's level of training, its mouth shape and sensitivity, and the rider's hand. Therefore, it makes sense to try out dentures.

When strapping in the bit, make sure that it is strapped in correctly: the BUSSE logo is on the left side of the horse's head, with the hollow side of the bit pointing towards the throat and the other side towards the mouth outlet . (If the bit is correctly positioned in front of you, you can read the size label on the right shank the right way up - it is not upside down.)

It is important that the bit fits correctly into the bit straps of the bridle or curb is buckled. When buckled correctly using the bit straps, approx. 2-3 small wrinkles will form at the corners of the mouth.

The bit should be checked regularly for signs of wear, such as sharp edges, and replaced if necessary. Please only use the bit if it is in an appropriate condition that does not harm the horse's well-being.
