BUSSE Turnout Rug WINDCHILL 50 – year-round protection for your horse
The BUSSE Turnout Rug WINDCHILL 50 is an ultimate rain rug with very light insulation, ideal for horse owners looking for a reliable turnout rug for all-year use. It provides excellent climate control and prevents condensation build-up, keeping your horse dry in changeable weather. Thanks to its flexible design, it can easily be combined with liners to adapt to any weather situation.
The tough 840 denier polyester outer withstands wind and weather reliably, while the light 50 g polyfill insulation provides gentle thermal comfort. The DRYsense lining is particularly coat-friendly, dries quickly and stops the rug from feeling damp on the inside – perfect for daily use in the field or paddock. With 3000 g/m²/24h breathability and 5000 mm waterproofness, the rug stays reliably wind- and waterproof.

Warning/safety instructions for horse blankets
For optimal use of a horse blanket, pay attention to the correct size, fit and suitable material to ensure protection and comfort. When choosing a blanket, consider whether it is suitable for the intended use. Check this carefully or seek expert advice - use our size guide and advice.
For the final adjustment of a horse blanket, the adjustment options on the product should be used, as incorrect application can lead to damage. Even with optimal adjustment, regular checks of the fit are essential. Check that the blanket fits correctly, the Velcro fasteners are clean (to avoid chafing) and the blanket is intact.
Depending on the weather conditions, the right blanket model should be chosen to protect the horse from overheating or cold. Waterproofing can be crucial if necessary - you can find information on this in our guides. When kept in groups, the ideal fit of the blanket can be jeopardized by members of the same species. We recommend adjusting the ceiling control distances accordingly.
Check the horse's fur and skin regularly for chafe marks, as these can occur due to dirt between the blanket and the horse, even with optimally fitting blankets.
Instructions on the washing process
You can wash your blanket on a gentle cycle at 30° with a suitable blanket detergent. The blanket should have enough space in the washing machine. Make sure to close all fasteners on the blankets before washing. Even when closed, components of the blanket can damage the washing machine during the washing process. To prevent this, buckles in particular should be removed or padded so that they are machine washable. Horse blankets should be spun at a maximum of 600-800 revolutions/minute.
