Scandic Multi-Layer 250 g – warmer over the back, lighter at the sides

The Scandic Multi-Layer is not filled evenly: there are 250 g over the back and 100 g at the sides. The reason is simple – a horse loses most of its warmth across the back, while extra material on the flanks only adds weight. The rug stays warm where it matters and light where it can.

The outer shell is a 1200 denier fabric that copes with fences and hedges. Inside sits an antibacterial lining. The V-shaped front closure and the pleat leave the shoulder free, and the reflective piping makes your horse visible at dusk.

Questions & answers:

When do I choose 250 g over 150 g?
When your horse is clipped, carries little winter coat, or the field gets properly cold. For mild transitional days the 150 g version is usually enough.

Why are the sides filled more thinly?
A horse loses hardly any warmth there. The same filling as over the back would only make the rug heavier.

What is the Stay Clean Inlay for?
For trying the rug on. It sits between coat and lining so the rug stays free of hair if it goes back. Afterwards you simply peel it off.
