A foal halter is specially adapted to the proportions and sensitive skin of young horses. It accompanies the foal during its first steps in the human world, from being led next to the mare to the first grooming and tying sessions.
Growing with the Foal
Foals grow extremely fast. A good model can therefore be adjusted at several points – usually at the headpiece, the chin strap, and often also the noseband. This allows it to be used for several months without constantly having to buy a new one.
Soft Materials for Sensitive Skin
The skin of foals is still very thin and sensitive. To prevent chafing and hair breakage, foal halters are made of soft, supple nylon or very soft leather. They are almost always additionally padded with fleece, faux fur, or neoprene on the poll and nose.
