Game Calls: Bring game in with sound
Calling well is one of the most exciting ways to hunt. You imitate a sound that means something to the animal, and it comes towards you. Game calls from Weisskirchen cover almost every situation: from calling roe bucks in the rut to fox calling in winter, the red deer rut and hunting crows, ducks and geese. The calls are compact and fit into any jacket pocket, so you always have them to hand.
For roe buck, stag and chamois
During the roe rut at the end of July you bring the buck in with a fawn call or a hardwood mouth call that imitates the squeak of a doe. In the red deer rut in autumn you reach for a stag call: the Eifel stag call and the ox horn produce the deep, rough roar that challenges a master stag. For the mountains there is the chamois call, and Weisskirchen also makes a dedicated call for wild boar. With the WXT 4all universal call you have several sounds in one instrument, which saves space in your pocket.
Foxes, predators and birds
When calling foxes you play the rabbit distress call or wild rabbit squeal, a sound of distress that a fox finds very hard to resist. The mouse squeaker tempts him at close range, and during the mating season the fox barker or the fox flute with its mating call does the job. For crows there are the carrion crow call and the crow distress call, and for the water there are duck and goose calls. Ready made sets such as the fox calling and mating season set or the Premium calling set in a wooden case bring the right calls together.
Frequently asked questions
How do I learn to use a call properly?
Practise at home and listen to recordings of real game sounds. Out on your ground, calling less often and more softly usually works better than calling too loud and too often.
How long should I wait after calling?
A fox can arrive within minutes, but sometimes only after a quarter of an hour. Stay still for at least 20 minutes after calling and keep watching the cover around you.
Can I use a rabbit distress call to bring in wild boar?
Pigs occasionally react out of curiosity to distress calls, but it is not reliable. For wild boar, a dedicated boar call is the better choice.
Weisskirchen game calls for every kind of hunting
With the right sound at the right time, game comes to you of its own accord. During the roe rut you tempt the buck with a fawn call or hardwood mouth call, and in autumn you challenge the master stag with an Eifel stag call or ox horn. For foxes, the rabbit distress call, wild rabbit squeal and mouse squeaker are proven companions, joined in the mating season by the fox barker and fox flute. You can reach crows, ducks and geese with their own calls, and in the mountains the chamois call does the job. If you want several sounds in one instrument, choose the WXT 4all, and ready made sets bring the classics for fox calling together. Practise the sounds calmly before the season so they sound natural out on the ground. Call softly and sparingly, then wait patiently, because wary game often takes its time before it comes in.
