Every electric fence needs passages to enter the pasture or to move animals. Such access is usually realized with a gate handle and an integrated tension spring. To hook this handle to the wooden post, you need special gate handle insulators. They form the stable interface between the permanent fence and the movable gate.
Reliable Absorption of Tensile Force
When a pasture gate is closed, the conductor material is under tension. This tensile force is absorbed by the gate handle insulator. Normal ring insulators would break off under this constant mechanical stress. Instead, gate handle insulators have sturdy metal eyelets cast into the plastic, which safely intercept the pull of the spring.
Power Transmission to the Gate
These insulators serve not only as a mechanical fastening but also as an electrical contact point. Many models are equipped with connection plates. Here you can connect the conductor material of the main fence or an underground cable.
