One-handed use on awkward nipples
The guns are built so that you can pump them with one hand. That sounds like a detail, but it is the difference between properly greased and quickly skipped when the nipple sits behind the frame. A high-pressure hose bridges the spots the rigid head cannot reach, and the magnetic holder keeps the gun on the metal while you change the cartridge. The models take standard 400 gram cartridges, so you are not tied to one brand. If you do a lot of greasing out in the field, take a second filled cartridge along on the tractor so you do not have to head back to the workshop.
Couplers for every nipple shape
Not every grease nipple lets the head go again, and not every one can be approached head-on. Why is no grease coming out at the nipple?
Usually there is air in the system. Reseat the cartridge, bleed the gun and pump a few strokes into the open until the bead comes out evenly.
Do I need a hose?
For nipples you can get at freely, the rigid tube is enough. As soon as points sit behind frame parts, a high-pressure hose is the better choice.
