A grooming box or grooming bag keeps curry combs, brushes, hoof picks and care products together. Instead of searching the tack room, you carry everything to the grooming area in one go. At a show, in the trailer or on a long-distance ride, you always have your grooming kit with you. On a shared yard, having your own box also helps to stop brushes wandering between horses.

Lockable models protect your kit on a shared yard. A grooming bag is lighter, folds down and fits easily into the boot of a car. What should go in a grooming box?
At least a rubber curry comb, a body brush, a soft brush, a mane brush and a hoof pick. A sponge, a sweat scraper and, depending on the season, fly spray or hoof oil go well with them. Anything you rarely need is better stored in your locker.

How do I clean a plastic grooming box?
Empty it completely, knock out the hair and dust and wash it out with warm water and a little washing-up liquid. Let it dry well before putting the brushes back in. That way no mould forms in the corners.

Which grooming box is suitable for children?
A small, light box with a sturdy handle that a child can carry when it is full. Bright colours or motifs make grooming more appealing. For riding school children in particular, a box of their own with their name on it is well worth it.
