Horse Pellets: Compact Energy for Every Day

Discover high-quality horse pellets for a balanced diet. Dust-free, easy to dose, and rich in essential nutrients for your horse's health.

Horse Pellets: Balanced All-Round Care for Every Day

In modern horse feeding, horse pellets are a true classic and extremely popular. They offer a needs-based and compact nutrient supply in just one bite. Pressing the ingredients ensures that the horse cannot sort out specific components. Each pellet contains exactly the same balanced mix of energy, vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. In addition, the manufacturing process generally makes pellets absolutely dust-free, making them an excellent and stomach-friendly concentrate feed alternative, especially for horses with sensitive respiratory tracts.

High Nutrient Density and Easy Dosing

Another major advantage of horse pellets is their high bulk density. They require significantly less space in the feed storage area than voluminous mueslis. They also score points in daily stable work: pellets are extremely easy and exact to dose. This is a decisive factor, especially in large boarding stables or when feeding via automatic feeders, in order to allocate the exact ration required to each horse.

The Right Pellet for Every Horse

Whether for leisure horses, breeding mares, foals, or high-performance athletes – there are suitable pellets for almost every need. Many manufacturers offer special recipes: oat-free pellets for easily excitable horses, protein-reduced mixtures for hardy breeds, or high-calorie pellets for rapid muscle and weight gain.

Frequently Asked Questions about Horse Pellets

Why should I feed pellets instead of muesli?
The main reason is to prevent selective eating. With muesli, many horses pick out the tasty parts (like apple pieces or corn flakes) and leave the important but less tasty mineral pellets behind. With pure horse pellets, this is impossible – the horse absorbs all the important nutrients with every bite.

Can horses with dental problems eat pellets?
Hard pellets can be problematic for very old horses that can no longer chew properly (risk of esophageal obstruction). In this case, however, pellets can easily be soaked briefly in water and fed as a mash.

Do I need mineral feed in addition to pellets?
That depends on the type of pellets. If you feed a so-called "complete concentrate feed" in the daily dose recommended by the manufacturer, your horse's mineral requirements are usually completely covered. However, if you feed the pellets in very small quantities, a high-quality mineral feed should be supplemented.
