Muck Scoop: Poo Picking Without Bending
A Muck Scoop consists of a long handled scoop and a matching rake. With it you push droppings into the scoop in the field, paddock or arena without having to bend down. We offer muck scoops in several sizes, poo pickers with a sieve function, replacement scoops and a wall bracket, so the tool hangs neatly on the wall after work and stays out of the way.
Which size suits you
For a daily round of paddock and turnout area, a muck scoop with a 75 or 90 cm handle is easy to manage. Larger models such as an XXL poo picker hold more and suit the arena, where a lot of ground needs clearing. A shaker with a perforated scoop lets sand and shavings fall through, so only the muck is left. For children there is the Mistboy MINI, so even small helpers can lend a hand with stable duties.
Why regular poo picking pays off
Droppings in the field collect worm eggs and attract flies. If you clear the paddock regularly, the worm burden drops and the grass is grazed more evenly. Horses avoid eating near their own droppings, which otherwise leads to rough, ungrazed patches. How often should I poo pick the horse field?
Once or twice a week is ideal, and daily for small fields and paddocks. The more often you clear it, the fewer worm eggs spread across the pasture. With a muck scoop you can even do it while bringing the horses in.
Can I use a muck scoop in the box as well?
