Tractor Accessories: everything the tractor should take along

On the farm the tractor is rarely just a prime mover. It brings diesel and AdBlue out to the field, drives a pump off the PTO shaft and pulls a bogged-down machine free when it really has to. Taking fuel and fluids out to the machine

The further the field lies from the yard, the more every trip back to the farm tank costs. A mobile diesel tank with 400 or 1000 litres travels with you instead and fuels the combine, the chipper or the tractor right where it is working. The smaller unit runs an electric 12 volt pump and manages around 50 litres a minute, and the hinged lid keeps rain and dust off the filler neck. For AdBlue there are separate stations with 100 or 400 litres, because the urea solution does not tolerate any diesel residue. The automatic nozzle shuts off by itself when the tank is full, and the 100 litre trolley can be pulled across the yard by hand.

PTO pumps and recovery gear

A PTO pump needs no engine of its own. It hangs on the three-point linkage, runs off the tractor's PTO shaft and moves water for emptying, irrigating or cleaning. Cast iron models such as the Göbel ML 20 are secured against turning with a check chain, and the MT300 is available with a complete kit of suction and spray hose, brass nozzle and hose connectors. In recovery it is not the length that counts but the breaking load: an elastic 4 metre tow rope rated at 3.5 tonnes cushions the jolt as you take up the slack and carries carabiners and a warning flag, while slings rated at 35 or 56 tonnes are made for tractors, lorries and construction machinery.
