This wonderfully supports digestion and helps with constipation and diarrhoea. Linseeds are a true superfood and are often used for horses, dogs or cats to support stomach function. Golden linseeds have a better swelling capacity than brown linseeds and the content of omega 6 fatty acids is also higher in the yellow variety. Our linseed meal is finely ground and rich in natural vitamin E and protein (approx. 35 %). Linseed meal (or linseed flour or linseed cake) is a by-product of the production of linseed oil. Linseed meal is rich in protein, relatively high in fibre, has a low lysine content and contains high levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Linseed meal has a special dietary significance due to its mucus-forming effect in the gastrointestinal tract. This mucilage is produced by swelling the linseed in water. A number of positive properties are attributed to the mucilage and unsaturated fatty acids in linseed meal, such as the stimulation of intestinal peristalsis and a positive effect on the rumen microbes in ruminants. It is therefore preferably used in compound feed for ruminants (calves, cows), horses (broodmares, stallions, foals) or in piglet rearing.
