CosyHeat Heating Plate – the cosy hen replacement for chick rearing
After hatching, chicks have a particularly high need for warmth. In natural brooding, they warm themselves under the feathers of the mother hen, where heat accumulates to create a cosy temperature. The CosyHeat heating plate from Kerbl works on exactly this principle, reliably replacing the hen during chick rearing – without emitting light, so the chicks quickly adjust to a natural day-night rhythm.
The plate radiates heat downwards, creating a protective heat cushion underneath. An integrated rotary control allows stepless adjustment of the temperature to the chicks' needs, while the integrated thermostat keeps the temperature constant. Because the plate doesn't heat continuously, it is significantly more energy-efficient than conventional radiant heaters. Thanks to its height-adjustable legs, it's easy to adapt to the size of the animals – also ideal for quail, duck and other poultry chicks throughout their first weeks of life.

Note on correct temperature setting:
Correct setting: Chicks stay calmly under the plate and only leave to eat and drink.
Too low: Chicks are restless, huddle together, chirp and won't come out from under it – increase the temperature.
Too high: Chicks stay only at the edge of the plate or outside it – reduce the temperature. Temperature can also be adjusted indirectly via the legs: lower the plate if too cold, raise it if too warm. For chicks of different sizes, the plate can be tilted.
